David Lloyd Southampton

We went to make the most of a day pass during half term and it was great! Centre staff were friendly, very welcoming and helpful. We played tennis and the indoor courts were top condition with towels on the benches. The gym upstairs had everything we needed and more, the gym wasn’t busy and we were able to get on everything we wanted without waiting. We also went in the pool areas. Outside pool was heated and quiet, the steam room and saunas were just what we needed and the cleanliness of the pool and changing areas was 5*. Would recommend to anyone thinking of going.

Been a member for several years. It’s premium prices but not a premium experience. The facilities need investment and cleanliness is poor. Eg today, in the spin room, most of the wipe/paper roll containers were empty so bikes weren’t wiped down; the swimming pool is missing lots of tiles, multiple showers had clumps of hair in them etc.. The membership is nearly twice that of the Village or Nuffield. It’s just not justified.

I did the 14 day trial and I absolutely enjoyed my time at David Lloyd. I loved the gym, the facilities that they offer especially the pool. Just so much to do and people are very friendly. I love how clean the place is as well. My trial ended and I decided to join the club today! Very happy Thanks to Jordan who helped me with my membership and any questions I had :)

I had been a little anxious that our guided tour / introduction to the facilities at David Lloyd would be a "high pressure" selling sort of experience, I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. Georgie showed us around, was very easy going, pleasant and helpful; immediately we felt at ease in what can be a bit of an intimidating environment. The facilities seem very good and the atmosphere created by the helpful staff makes all the difference.

I only wished the membership prices were online to view. I had a tour of the gym and a full discussion with the lovely Georgie. The facility is amazing and I felt so supported discussing how this facility and the team can help get my mental health and physical health back on track since having my baby 10 months ago… because in all honesty I am at a low point. It made me emotional knowing how much this gym can help me…but when I was told the monthly price I was gutted, it was like my last hope of help had just been taken away from me. I couldn’t afford that… I can’t afford child care and I have no one to help look after my baby which means I can’t go to work. My baby is too young for me to do a 9-5 job from home, I would never get the work done! I know how important mental health is and that’s why I was willing to pay to get myself into a gym to help me but if I had known the price would be that, I would never have visited the facility just to cry on the way back home. I write this as I’m sure there’s many others in my situation who would appreciate being able to see the membership prices before having to visit the facility, only to be embarrassed.

We recently visited , David Lloyd in Southampton, on a busy Sunday and I must say that Liv, the receptionist, went above and beyond to provide an outstanding experience. Despite the sales team being occupied, Liv graciously stepped in and gave us an incredible tour of the club. Her enthusiasm, knowledge, and genuine passion for the facility was second to none. Liv's warm and welcoming demeanor immediately put us at ease. She took the time to understand our interests, engaged in friendly conversations, and was very funny during our tour. Her passion, knowledge, and genuine care for guests make her an invaluable asset to the club. Liv made us feel confident in choosing David Lloyd as our fitness destination.

Gerry very kindly let me use the facilities here for a £10 donation to Children in Need. Hugely appreciated as the water had been off in SO45 for 2 days and I had just been for a run! Whilst I was able to use wipes and such at home it was a relief to have a nice hot shower after a little go in the hot tub and sauna. Gerry was so kind and insisted I use their towel as she knew I also wouldn’t be able to do washing at home right now. Such kindness is so appreciated in times like that, thank you Gerry and DL Southampton.
